Start with the Basics

Our film studies programs will let you hit the ground running. You will be in the field honing your filmmaking skills within the first three weeks of school. We believe in hands-on training and learning by doing. You will learn the craft of filmmaking through on-set mentorship.

Finish with a Festival

All graduates of ZGI get to screen their thesis films at our annual ZGI Shorts Film Festival! Students win awards in several categories including Best Director, Best Screenwriting, Best Editing, Best Cinematography, and more!

Jessica Noe, winner of the Best Director award,  directing actors Mary Wallin and Sean Mabe on Airport Mesa in Sedona.

The premiere of The Reverie garnered Jessica the award for Best Directing in the Narrative category at ZGI’s own “Academy Awards.” Awards are presented at the ZGI Shorts FIlm Festival on Memorial Day weekend, each year.
